Every piece that leaves our workshop starts the same way — with a stack of timber and someone checking it board by board before a single cut is made.
Morning: selecting the frame timber
Not every board in a batch is usable. Grain direction, moisture content and small defects get checked by hand before timber is approved for a frame — a step that is slower than machine sorting but catches problems a moisture meter alone would miss.
Afternoon: joinery and upholstery
Frames are joined, sanded and checked for square before foam and fabric go anywhere near them. Upholstery happens last, by hand, panel by panel — it is the slowest part of the day and the reason two identical-looking sofas from different workshops can feel completely different to sit in.
By the end of the day, a piece that started as rough timber that morning is ready for a final quality check before it ever reaches a showroom floor.
